The Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, in partnership with the North East Combined Authority, have announced a £2.1 million investment in a new offshore wind cable testing rig at the Catapult’s world leading facilities in Blyth.
Fugro has announced it has been awarded contracts to conduct both geophysical and geotechnical site investigations for the development of two large-scale offshore wind farms in the German North Sea. The project, known as Windbostel Ost and Windbostel West, is a joint venture between RWE and TotalEnergies, with a combined generating capacity of 4 gigawatts (GW).
