Technology to meet the highest standards

Drives in the robotics sector require a maximum of dynamics and precision, but at the same time must be kept as small and lightweight as possible. For this reason, the German Aerospace Centre reports it has created with its RoboDrive motors a new motor technology which unites a high torque development and performance density – and this with minimal weight and use of construction space. The motor developers have relied on safety brakes by mayr power transmission. The company says the high-performance ROBA-servostop brakes are not only extremely slimline and lightweight, but also provide reliable, constant holding torques over the entire lifetime.

Reliable protection for people and materials

dmp Sondermaschinenbau GmbH develops and produces filling and packaging machines, mainly for the foodstuffs and cosmetics industry. In order to reliably safeguard the vertical axes in capping machines and assembly systems, the company says it places its trust in electromagnetic ROBA-linearstop safety brakes by mayr power transmission. The company says the electromagnetic version of this tried and tested linear brake construction series has been especially designed for application cases where no compressors or units for compressed air or oil hydraulics are available or wanted. It clamps with high positioning accuracy and backlash-free, and ensures maximum operational safety.

Pushed to the limit

Motor test stands and roller dynamometers in the automotive sector place maximum demands on drive systems. Therefore, it is necessary to protect the frequently expensive test pieces and the sensitive measurement units reliably from overload damages. With its EAS®-HSC and EAS®-HSE high-speed clutches, mayr power transmission reports it has developed clutches specially tailored to the requirements of test stand technology and they convince users through high quality and provide reliable protection without influencing the measurement signals.
