Historic pub strikes it lucky with horseshoe manufacture

When the Horseshoe Inn, a historic 17th Century pub in a small Staffordshire village, wanted a large horseshoe symbolic of its name made from heavy-grade steel, it was unsure where to turn. Fortunately, businessman and Managing Director of successful manufacturing company Hi-line Industries, Steve Smith, lives nearby. Hi-line takes its support for local businesses very seriously, particularly ones that play such an important role in the community. The company therefore gladly stepped in to manufacture the customised horseshoe on the pub’s behalf free of charge.

Thermal insulation solution

A leading oil and gas company needed thermal insulation for a tank at one of its lubricant plants. The upper surface of the tank, which reaches a temperature of 110 °C (230 °F), serves as a walkway for operators. This creates a high risk of employees receiving contact burns from the hot substrate. Additionally, some pitting corrosion had occurred. Finding a solution that would lower the surface temperature to prevent burns and halt further corrosion was crucial.

Enaimco, a Canadian headquartered company building digital solutions for subsea operations, has announced it has appointed energy industry software veteran Pal Roppen to the role of CEO. Based in Oslo and reporting to the Enaimco Board of Directors, Roppen will assume full responsibility for overall business operations, corporate strategy and growth as Enaimco scales its digital solutions globally in the energy sector.
