Maintenance for new turbines

The contract has a term of 20 years and includes all maintenance, service work, upgrades and repairs. If necessary, the company will also restore total write-offs and repair rotors and large components of the nine Senvion 3.2M turbines. Deutsche Windtechnik says the new project makes it the first manufacturer-independent service provider in the world to take over the complete service for a wind farm from the day it goes into operation.

Interview with David Blackwell

Winn__Coales.JPGThe Barakah Nuclear Power Plant being constructed in Abu Dhabi UAE is part of the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) nuclear power program due to be completed by 2020. The new power plant owners required a coating to line the sea water intake pipes. The consultant in charge wanted a coating which exhibited excellent abrasion and erosion resistance, good permeation resistance, undercutting resistance and that performed well in the corrosion environment of marine applications.

The company says the cell uses a lot of the innovations that are used in Boldman’s existing large fixed cells, but has the added benefit of being movable, which many clients demanded as their testing locations were not always permanent.

vlcsnap-2016-05-14-12h35m02s13.jpgA secret mission to persuade Tsar Nicholas II of Russia to stay in the First World War failed when Britain’s Secretary of State for War Lord Kitchener and over 700 sailors died in the sinking of the warship HMS Hampshire after it hit a mine off the Orkney Isles. 100 years later a Saab Seaeye Falcon underwater robotic system operated by Roving Eye Enterprises examined the wreck in a collaborative project that included the University of the Highlands and Islands Archaeology Institute, with licensed permission from the Ministry of Defence.
